Chapter 1: She Escapes She whispered to her self "Everything is going to be ok...", hiding in her room holding a knife and shaking tremendously. Her lights were cut off but the moon was shining in her window. She looked at the blade and moved it ever so slightly watching the light softly fade up and down the blade. Her hands began to shake as the knife moved more causing the light to bounce off the blade and onto the walls. She dropped the knife breathing heavily, hearing the sound of the knife hit the hardwood floor... thud thud..she started to cry and fell to the floor on her knees, hair falling in front of her face, and tears soaking her tank top. She took a deep breath and sniffled calming down and looked around. She then picked the knife back up and slowly stood up, walking to the door cautiously opening it and quietly walked to the room across from hers. The floor creaked under her feet and she stopped. The creaking seized. She whispered again "Damned this old house.. ". She began to walk again a little more steadily. The floor no longer made a creaking noise. She grasped the knob and opened the door. Swoosh! The door flew open by the suction of the fan by his bedside. She quickly hid behind the wall. He began to cough harshly and tossed and turned ignoring the fact that the door swung open. She peeked into the door, looking around to make sure he was still asleep. She started walking into the room carefully and reached the bed. She thought to her self.. She then decided to wait. She shut his door back behind her when she walked back to her room and hid the knife in her dresser, crawling back into bed. "Janey come downstairs for breakfast." He said with a rasp to his voice. He coughed then filled her bowl with cereal and milk, putting her lunch in her backpack. Stomping rapidly down the stairs, she skips breakfast and grabs her bag, walking quickly out the door. Bryan looked at her, confused as she did. Janey walks the opposite way of her school to skip with her friends, Rain and Liam. Liam pulls out a blunt from behind his ears and waves it under Janey's nose. "Let's fire up brah." Liam didn't hesitate to say walking towards a field with the two girls. They all puff on it til its gone while laying next to each other on the grassy field.
