open g or drop g lol, what's the order of the strings from thickest to thinnest? Open G will contain Gs and Ds. Ah well if you break strings often either you're not changing them enough or using the wrong gauge lol. I use Ernie Ball.

never heard of tripple wide (sp?) single coil you mean? I have a telecaster with a single coil in, nice bitey sound lol.
