Last night, I went to a concert to see the band 2Shadows. I had a VIP pass, so I was also able to meet the band in person. I was there at least 2 hours early and it was freezing cold, I was more nervous about meeting them. When the time finally came to go in, my heart was pounding.
I had been wanting to meet these people for years and it finally came true.
Glen and Tristan were the absolute sweetest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. They even loved the paintings I had given them. They complimented me on my skills and said they were very thankful and both gave me a big hug.
I've never been so happy to see their smiles and I made sure to get pictures with them to remember the moment. I've never met anyone as nice as they were. They were really funny, too.
I can never get over how tall Tristan was. I even asked him if he could loan me a few inches of his height, since I'm so short and Glen said he'd been asking for years. It was really funny. Glen got to see pictures of my other paintings that I had done over the years, and he loved them.
I told him about the celebrity painting I did of people, like Michael Vampire, Johnnie Guilbert, and a few others I did, but with permission, since I prefer to have someone's consent before painting them.
Glen made me the happiest woman on Earth when he told me that if I ever want to, I have his permission to paint him and Tristan. Never in my life have I ever been so happy!
An hour before the other bands started playing, I decided to give him one last gift.
A few years ago when I had first started listening to their music, I went through a really bad break up due to my partner cheating on me. Their song "Scratching at the surface" helped me get through it and it was also the inspiration behind one of the paintings I gave them.
I had a ring at that time, and it seemed to bring me a lot of good luck during hard times. I had made a vow that if I ever got to meet 2Shadows, I would pass my ring down to them.
Glen said he was very touched by the gift and asked if I was sure about gifting him my lucky ring. But I had told him, I made a vow to give it to him years ago, and I always keep a promise if I make one. He smiled and thanked me while letting me know he would be wearing it when he performed.
I met a girl at the concert, too.
She was really cool and very nice with an awesome sense of style.
She asked me if I was going to buy a band tee, but I guess Glen overheard me say that I couldn't buy one due to not having any money. She told me to pick and she would pay for it, I was reluctant to let her buy it for, but then Glen, being very stubborn, told that I had to accept it and one way or another, I was leaving with a shirt.
Eventually I gave up and let her buy it for me.
She also bought me a pizza after hearing me say I was hungry, but even though I said no, she still did it.
After that, the performances started.
The bands who played were very good.
Never Before, Blend, and a few others that I can't remember all played wonderfully.
2Shadows finally came on stage, it was awesome!
And like he had promised, Glen was wearing the ring I gave him.
They were amazing on stage and everyone had a blast.
I got to hang out with them a bit more, and met one of the band members from Blend. I know, I should remember his name, but I have a somewhat terrible memory when it comes to names. But he was very nice and asked how I felt about the performers, and I told him they were all great.
But he was very surprised when I let him know, that it was only the second concert I've ever been to in my life.
I may be 20, but I never really got out much.
He asked me if I wanted a t-shirt, but I told him that I was unable to buy one.
And of course, once again, I had to argue with him trying to give it to me for FREE. Once again, I had to give up, and accept the shirt and jokingly blamed Glen for everyone being so stubborn.
The night ended with me talking to Glen and Tristan some more, getting a few more pics and giving hugs. I'm really grateful to have made such amazing goth friends, and should they ever come to Columbus again, I hope to see them again. They were really happy to get to know more about me and I was so happy to get to know them.
It was truly an amazing night and I wish it could've gone on longer
