That would work really well and I'd recommend it if you can afford one. Razoring is really easy. Just start halfway down the length and glide down, holding the hair in place. Don't take off too much and you're good to go!

How long is your hair? Does it all end into the same length? Like, does all of your hair fall to one location? Generally speaking, layers fall over the length of your head. So.. This is a good example. If your hair is say.. 24 inches long, (2 feet) Then you would begin razoring about 8 inches from the end of the hair strand, on the outside of your hair letting it fall naturally. I would move the razor down about 1/2 an inch and stroke 16 times in the same place.. (completing a full 8 inches of length,) creating choppy layers. This is difficult to do with accuracy ^^ I don't think razoring layers into your hair is something you want to do. You're better off going to a salon and simply asking them for increase layers. With a razor, I only recommend doing what I mentioned before because texture isn't nearly as hard to do as a complete haircut. >.>

Well, it's pretty easy, first of all you get your hair drenched wet! Then you tie up half of it, then starting about 3 inches from the base, you run the razor downward. Your hair is really dense and course so I would razer the same location twice, then move next to it and do the same, after you go around your head, let down the rest of your hair and repeat. You can razor your fringe a little too, just to make it lighter and more comfortable. You can also use a razer to design the shape of your fringe BUT BE CAREFUL Don't cut yourself and don't take off to much because you can't get it back. If you want, you can razer your fringe so it's directing the way your part goes. Do NOT razer dry hair! After you're finished, let me know how it goes. -.^ If you don't see the difference you're looking for, when you're finished, go back over all of your hair but start further down the length, 1/2 down the length of your hair. If you still want it more razered, go over it a third time 3/4ths of the way down your hair. This will create natural layering and texture. Again, be REALLY CAREFUL not to cut yourself. ^_^ and DO NOT do it dry.
